I AM A SUCCESS

Success is who you are, not what you are trying to be. Yes! You may not look like it yet, but that's the truth for every child of God. In Matthew 5:13&14, Jesus, talking about we being the light of the world and the salt of the earth, said " You are..."  , not  "You will be". Again I want to reiterate that no matter who you are, where you are or what you've been through, as long as you're a child of God,  You are a Success! Glory to God!! However, going down to verse 16 of Matthew 5, you will see that you have a responsibility to let that Success manifest. That is, there are things you have to do to let that Success become evident for all to see. At this point I'd like you to know that Success is not a destination; it is a lifestyle. Success is not futuristic; it is present continuous. Success is not something that will happen someday; it is what you make happen by the things you do everyday! Someone said that the successful do daily what the

Knowing God

What does it mean to know God? Knowing God means becoming well acquainted with Him. That is, having a personal and first-hand experience of a relationship with him. Matt 16:13-15. Take note of the following points about knowing God. 1. Knowing God must be a priority on the list of your desires. Matt 6:33. It is actually a matter of priority, because all other things about you depend on it. The depth of your knowledge of God influences every other aspect or area of your life. 2. Knowing God is not a gift, so you cannot get it by impartation. It's not a gift given to some people and not given to other people. It's a choice, an individual choice backed up by a deep craving. 3. You get to know God progressively, not instantly. Is 28:10. It's a lifelong process. God is so deep. Rom 11:33 4. God wants you to know Him. Jer 9:23,24. He desires that you seek to know Him. Ps 14:2. How can I know God? 1. Be born-again. John 3:3. That is what gives you access to the knowledg

Passwords and Keys

Consider a scenario where you had to quickly rush home from work to get an important file, only for you to get to your doorstep and realise that you're not with the key. Gosh! You can even see the file on the table through the window, but you can't get in to pick it up. It's not because the door cannot be opened, but because you don't have what will open it. When I was a little boy many years ago, I entered the wrong password repeatedly on my brother's phone, until the SIM was blocked. It's not because it's impossible to gain access to the phone, but because I didn't know what will give me access to it. Now this is my point: Everything has   a key! Whatever it is you desire to acquire, has a password! In my high school and college days, I never believed a subject or course was hard, even if it appears to be so. Hence, if I did not get an A in a course, I do not blame it on the hardness of the course, but on myself. It's either because I was not

Some Vital Principles on Dealing Successfully With People

The greater part of instruction is being reminded of what you already know- Greek Philosopher, Plato. 1. Be yourself, regardless of whom you're dealing with. Don't shout back at her because she shouted at you. Be the calm person that you are. Don't say "he refused to help me the other day, so I won't help him too". Be the kind person that you are. Don't be the mirror image of the other person. 2. Be merciful. When you think you're helping others, you're helping yourself. Treat people with kindness- your family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers. That stranger may turn out to be an 'angel'. 3. Don't be quick to judge. What you saw or heard about that person may not be enough for you to conclude. There's usually more to it than meets the eye. You may be wrong; just hold your peace. 4. Don't condemn. No matter how deplorable or contemptible someone's case may be. You are not the standard; everybody ne

Make the most of today.

Make the most of today. Many of us wish we had the opportunity to go back to the past and make right some things we did wrong. We realise that our lives would have been better off today if we had done some things right yesterday. Now, what is today? I define today as the tomorrow of yesterday and the yesterday of tomorrow. Correct, isn't it? This time yesterday, you referred to today as tomorrow, and at this time tomorrow, you will be calling today yesterday! It is rightly said that we are who and where we are today, because of our actions, decisions and choices of yesterday. That also means that, who and where we will be tomorrow, will be the result of our actions, decisions and choices of today! One of the traits of successful people, is that they use lessons learnt from yesterday's mistakes to make wise decisions today, towards getting their desired results tomorrow. Sir John C. Maxwell calls it "failing forward". It's never late to be right!

Seek Knowledge

Knowledge, they say, is power. The more you know about life, the better your life becomes. No doubt, to a large extent, you have come this far in life because of what you know. But you could have gone farther than this if you knew better. Not 'knowing', may be costly. It may lead to painfully saying "had I known". "Don't wish things were better, wish you were better."- Jim Rohn Let's keep devouring those books, attending those seminars and listening to those mentors. Seek knowledge, and more importantly, apply it!
